Bpifrance Le Hub, France Digitale and Mouvement Impact France have unveiled the fourth edition of the Mapping of French Impactful Startups. Presently, there are 1,142 startups whose core activities contribute significantly to positive impacts on the environment and society within a burgeoning ecosystem, and Sopht proudly stands among them!

Mapping insights

This year, 1,142 startups have been identified, marking a 6% increase in just one year. This mapping reaffirms that, despite a more challenging economic backdrop over the past 12 months, impact-focused startups continue to capture the attention of both talents and investors.

This trend is underscored by Maya Noël, the General Director of France Digitale, who states, “This new edition of the mapping demonstrates the growth and resilience of the impact startup ecosystem, positioning France as a pivotal hub for innovations addressing environmental and societal challenges. If we aim for these startups to amplify their positive impact, we must enable them to expand on a European scale. A harmonized single market and proactive policies for public and private orders for our startups are essential reforms to make Europe a leader in sustainable innovation. These are demands we intend to prioritize in the coming months, notably during the European elections.”

This year also witnesses the inclusion of the Impact France Movement in the selection of startups featured in the mapping. Caroline Neyron, the General Director of the Impact France Movement, remarks, “In this new edition of the mapping, the selection criteria for impact have been tightened to choose only the most committed startups. Despite this, the number of impact startups has continued to grow this year. 18% of the startups in this mapping are social and solidarity economy (SSE) companies, showcasing the ability of SSE commercial enterprises to innovate and scale up to become the future impact unicorns.”

Thus, Sopht takes pride in illuminating French tech prowess to instigate change, and we cordially invite you to explore the comprehensive mapping!
